Wind, water, sky

Parakiting on the North Sound.

Steady trades, turquoise waters, and a billion dollar view where the pigs can fly.

Parakiting from Hog Heaven is one of the most sought-after flying locations in the world. A take-off zone at 1,200 ft with views across the Virgin Islands and the wild gradient of blues where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean.

Where to ride

Most kiters take off right next to Hog Heaven restaurant. Sign a waiver and — with permission from the owner, Dale — you can even launch off the roof. Land on the street next to the restaurant, or down on the beach out front.

Lessons and rentals

We don't run kiting operations ourselves, but several outfitters work the North Sound out of Leverick Bay and Bitter End. Swing by the bar — we'll point you to who's running what this week.

From the deck

"Order a rum punch, find a railing, and watch kites carve the flats while the sun drops behind St. Thomas."

Where pigs truly fly

Shot on an Insta360 X5 from the harness — launching off the ridge, soaring over Hog Heaven, and out across the North Sound. This is the view the goats are jealous of.
